This is Cornwall --

The weather may have a wintry feel, and it appears that our entertainment does too, with a pantomime version of The Wizard of Oz at Plymouth Pavilions this Easter.

Comedian Bobby Davro is the Scarecrow, CBeebies' Sarah-Jane Honeywell is Glinda and Tracy Beaker star and Strictly Come Dancing favourite Dani Harmer is Dorothy.

The show – based on the books by L Frank Baum – is a spectacular family production, bringing together a top cast, amazing costumes, fantastic dance routines and plenty of popular songs.

Dani, who has been dancing since the age of three, says she's delighted to be heading down the Yellow Brock Road. "Having a love for musicals at a very young age, The Wizard of Oz has always been a favourite of mine, but let's face it there is only one Judy Garland.," she says.

"As this is a pantomime version, I can put my own spin on the character which is great. I love to be able to combine the acting, singing and dancing. It's such fun."

And has Strictly had an impact?

"I used to be a tomboy and never wore dresses but it's turned me into a crazy glitter addict," she laughs.

The Wizard of Oz is at Plymouth Pavilions on Wednesday and Thursday, April 3 and 4. Reported by This is 6 days ago.
