Lower Moreland Fire Marshal’s Office Has Knox Box Applications Patch Lower Moreland, PA --

According to the Lower Moreland Spring/Summer newsletter the Lower Moreland Township Fire Marshal office has applications to acquire a Knox Box, which may be installed for rapid access to a commercial or residential property in times of emergency.

Under the Township Departments, Fire Marshal tab of the township’s website, Knox Boxes are required to be installed on the outside of commercial buildings for firefighter access, if no one is present. Likewise, residents may apply for a Knox Box for their homes through the Fire Marshal’s office. The newsletter states that the residential Knox Boxes are strictly optional.

According to www.knoxbox.com, the residential Knox Box is a high-security safe designed for single family homes that only allows access to local emergency responders. Such access permits non-forced entry into homes, during times of emergency, by allowing emergency responders to retrieve the key locked inside the box and returning it when the responders leave.

Application forms and more information is available through the township website or by contacting the Lower Moreland Township Fire Marshal’s Office at 215-947-3100. Reported by Patch 6 days ago.
